In Memory

Just this side of Heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge...

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.  There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.  There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor.  Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.  The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing: they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance.  His bright eyes are intent.  His eager body quivers.  Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again.  The happy kisses rain upon your face: your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life, but NEVER absent from your heart.

Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together...

I Only Wanted You

They say memories are golden well maybe that is true.

I never wanted memories, I only wanted you.

A million times I needed you, a million times I cried.

If Love alone could have saved you, you never would have died.

In life I loved you dearly, In death I love you still.

In my heart you hold a place, no one could ever fill.

If tears could build a stairway and heartache make a lane,

I'd walk the path to heaven and bring you back again.

Our family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same.

But as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again.

Our little 'T' man went to the Rainbow Bridge too soon in his young life.  We are devastated by our loss of this funny, happy, gorgeous little man.  He was a blessing, in the true sense of the word.  He brought so much joy to so many people in his short life and he will be dearly missed.  He was my first 'Wegie' and I fell in love with him at first sight.  He decided, though, that he was the kind of dude that wanted to be the only cat, and so he had gone to live with my mother and father-in-law, a very short way from where we live.  We were able to visit him weekly, and since he was very fond of my daughter, it was good for both of them that he was close in proximity.  He made my 'mom and dad' very happy when they were going through a very difficult time in their lives.  You see, my sister in Christ (my husband's sister) Lee Anne had multiple myeloma...which is a horrible type of cancer.  (what type of cancer is not horrible???)

But Treven did give grandma and grandpa much joy while he was able to.  He sat with my 'mom' (I call her my mom...because she basically IS!!!)  every morning while she would do her Bible study, and sit in the windows and watch birdies, squirrels and the lone raccoon that would come to visit on occasion.  He would sit with my 'dad' each night and watched westerns with him whilst getting a good brushing.  Mom also would carry pictures of him around in her purse and show him off every chance she got.  But, with my sister, Lee Anne's final days upon us, at the beginning of 2005, she was admitted into a hospice to live out the remainder of her days there, and it was at this time when mom went down to stay in Arizona for an extended time.  A few weeks after she left, Treven began to show signs of being extremely ill.  Unfortunately, dad had to leave for Arizona as well. Before he left, he took T-bird into the vets for a check up.

Things were not good, and our little man came to stay with us until he was able to be taken back home again.  Unfortunately, he never saw mom or dad again.  He had to have help getting to Rainbow Bridge, and with the help of an excellent veterinarian his passing was peaceful, and quiet.  He went in my arms and was purring and being the bestest boy ever.  My heart wrenched at the moment I knew he was gone from me.  He was another victim of F.I.P.   I had many doubts as I was driving with him to the hospital...but, when he passed, I knew that I had made the right decision.  I truly believe that he is with my sister Lee Anne right now.  He is sitting in her lap and she is loving him and they are both looking down on us.  One day I will see them BOTH again.

We love you little troublemaker, T-man, chirper, handsome dude, T-bird, Trevvie, loverboy!!!!!  You are gone from our lives...but NEVER from our hearts!
